Jemenuño, Laguna Rodrigo, Ochando, Pascuales, Pinilla - Ambroz, Santovenia and Tabladillo

Once the region of Segovia had been pacified, and added to that the security afforded by the advance of the Reconquest, it is normal that the churches and shrines built in scarcely populated villages and hamlets did not require large spaces. This architecture was related to rustic culture connected to the social strata of agricultural and livestock farmers, giving birth to a school of masters of works who repeated the same models throughout the area. For this reason, in Jemenuño, Laguna Rodrigo, Ochando, Pascuales, Pinilla-Ambroz, Santovenia and Tabladillo, many of their modern churches have Romanesque origins. Their sixteenth- and seventeenth-century altarpieces feature paintings and sculptures that show great devotionand artistic value, such as the four sixteenth-century panel paintings in Pinilla-Ambroz that belonged to an earlier altarpiece and depict the life of Saint John the Baptist, and a fifth panel that depicts Christ in the Garden of Olives with the sleeping disciples. In Tabladillo, there is a figure of the Virgin of Sorrows attributed to Juan de Mena, and in Ochando, there is a much venerated sculpture of Saint Pelayo.
